Cross Lake Provincial Park is located on Steele Lake, less than two hours drive north of Edmonton. Just over 2,000 hectares, the park surrounds the lake, ensuring that the entire shore and adjacent wetlands are protected. Visitors can enjoy the sandy beach, swimming area, boating and a network of scenic forest trails.
Trails in the park range from an easy 1 km to a moderate 6.5 km. They transport you through mixed wood forests and wetlands to numerous wildlife and bird viewing areas. A rustic backcountry campground at George’s Point has seven sites for the more adventurous. This hike-in or boat-accessible camping place, on a secluded point, has a small dock and an outdoor toilet.
