Common CAB Questions and Answers
The MD believes that local recreational, social, cultural, educational and athletic initiatives and programs provide a foundation for the physical and mental health of its citizens. In this spirit, the MD plans to provide budgeted funding assistance for community opportunities, initiatives and programming. The new Community Assistance Board Policy is designed as a framework to help qualified applicants receive this funding. The policy can be found Here.
All not-for-profit societies, community groups, clubs and individuals that offer a direct benefit to the citizens of the MD, and that align with the MD’s community values (youth, seniors, fellowship, compassion, generosity, spirit, leadership and volunteerism) will be eligible to apply for community assistance funding. Priority will be given to applications that focus on core areas of Recreation, Social, Cultural, Education and Athletics.
Religious entities, registered charities and for-profit organizations will not qualify for community funding through this new application process.
Eligible applicants must fill out a Community Assistance Funding Application Form and submit to the MD. From there, the Community Assistance Board will review all of the applications and allocate funding towards community opportunities, initiatives and programming. Applications will be due at month end for the months of January, April, July and October with the Community Assistance Board reviewing and allocating funds in February, May, August and November.
Click Here to download, complete and print the Community Assistance Funding Application Form. The form can also be sent out to you via e-mail, faxed or picked up in person at the Lesser Slave River Head Office or the Flatbush sub-office.
