Winter has arrived, and keeping our roads safe and accessible is a shared effort.

As residents and property owners, we all play an important role in helping the MD maintain clear and safe travel routes throughout the season.

Please remember — snow should never be pushed or placed onto MD roads, ditches, or right-of-ways. Doing so creates safety hazards for drivers, pedestrians, school buses, and emergency vehicles. Snow left on public roadways can cause drifting, block visibility, and create icy surfaces, all of which increase the risk of accidents.

Snow pushed into ditches or right-of-ways can also lead to drainage problems and flooding when temperatures rise, potentially damaging road infrastructure. By keeping snow on your property or arranging for proper removal, you help protect our roads and reduce maintenance costs for everyone.

Our Transportation team works tirelessly during every storm to keep routes plowed and safe for travel. Your cooperation makes their work more effective and helps ensure all areas of the MD are serviced as quickly as possible.
