Westlock RCMP request the public's help in locating two suspects following a series of break-and-enters that occurred in the early morning hours of April 6, 2026.

Incident Overview

Between 3:15 am and 3:33 am, three suspects attempted to break into a business located near the intersection of Highway 44 and Highway 661. Shortly after, the suspects successfully entered several businesses within the Town of Westlock.

While police apprehended one suspect at the scene, the remaining two individuals broke into another business before fleeing the area.

Suspects at Large

The RCMP are searching for two suspects described as follows:

Request for Video Footage

Investigators are asking residents and business owners in the areas of Highway 18 and 108 Avenue in Westlock to review their security or dash camera footage. Police are specifically interested in any activity recorded between 4:15 am and 5:00 am on April 6, 2026.

Arrest and Charges

One suspect, Emmanuel Kafui Mawusi (32) of Edmonton, was arrested at the scene. He faces 10 charges, including:

• Mischief over $5,000 (x3)
• Break and Enter (x2)
• Possession of a break-in instrument
• Possession of a dangerous weapon (handgun)
• Resisting arrest

Mawusi has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Westlock on April 8, 2026, at 10:00 am.
