Speaking not only as Reeve, but as a fellow resident, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to our MD staff who have gone above and beyond to keep our municipality safe and connected throughout this challenging winter season.

While many were enjoying the holidays, our Roads and Transportation teams were out in harsh conditions, keeping highways and rural routes open. Their incredible efforts ensured residents, emergency responders, and essential services could reach their destinations safely.

Simultaneously, our Utilities crews worked around the clock to address water line breaks in Smith and Flatbush, responding swiftly to restore stability for affected households.

"To our plow operators, utility workers, mechanics, foremen, and support staff: thank you. You are the backbone of this municipality, and your resilience keeps our communities moving—even through the toughest conditions."

Many of these individuals worked double shifts in sub-zero temperatures, sacrificing time with their families to serve ours. Your dedication does not go unnoticed—you demonstrate what it truly means to serve with pride.

We are especially grateful to those MD staff members who also serve as volunteer first responders, extending their commitment beyond their workday to protect the communities they call home: thank you.

— Sincerely, Reeve Murray Kerik
