Slave Lake, Alta. – On June 2, 2025

Slave Lake RCMP responded to reports of a possible drunk male walking around Walmart flashing a knife towards employees. Slave Lake RCMP responded, located the male and conducted the arrest. A search of the male incidental to arrest revealed stolen goods as well as the knife.

As a result of the investigation, Eddie Michael Trindle (23), a resident of Trout Lake, Alta., was charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000;
  • Causing a disturbance;
  • Carrying a concealed weapon; and
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Trindle was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake on June 18, 2025.

“I wanted to thank the Walmart employees for their swift response in calling us to handle the situation” said S/Sgt Casey Bruyns, Detachment Commander of the Slave Lake RCMP. “They kept a safe distance and monitored the situation and trusted us to keep them safe. This is a good reminder that Slave Lake RCMP is always working towards building trust and keeping our communities safe.”
