RCMP Investigates Fuel Theft in Smith
Overnight fuel theft prompts community alert
Slave Lake RCMP is investigating several reports of fuel theft in the Smith area.
Media release shared on behalf of the RCMP — Over the past week, Slave Lake RCMP has received multiple complaints of fuel being siphoned overnight from large commercial tanks in the Smith area.
The individuals involved were captured on video wearing face coverings; however, no arrests have been made thus far.
Slave Lake RCMP would like to remind the public, as well as businesses in the area, to protect their property by locking up what they can, storing items in well-lit areas, and, when possible, installing sensor-activated surveillance equipment.
