The MD of Lesser Slave River would like to make residents aware that Slave Lake Communications will be conducting broadband infrastructure construction and restoration work in various communities throughout the region.

This work is being completed by Slave Lake Communications and is not a project of the MD.

The project is part of the Universal Broadband Fund, in partnership with the Provincial and Federal Government, and is intended to expand access to high-speed internet across the Lesser Slave Lake Region.

Communities included in the current expansion include:

  • Moose Portage
  • Fawcett Lake
  • Chisholm
  • Flatbush
  • Hondo
  • Slave Lake
  • Smith
  • Decrene
  • Mitsue
  • Overlea
  • Sawridge First Nation

This expansion follows previously approved project areas, including:

  • Bayer Road
  • Canyon Creek
  • Devonshire Beach
  • Marten Beach
  • Sawridge First Nation
  • Wagner
  • Widewater

Slave Lake Communications has advised that it is committed to ensuring any disturbed areas are properly remediated and returned to their intended condition.
