The MD sincerely thanks Karl Gongos and the Motor Dealers Association of Alberta, Norbert Raffael and Alberta Forestry and Parks, and Brian Vance for their contributions and support in helping improve this recreational area and create greater opportunities for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
Over the past three years, the MD has worked in partnership with Alberta Forestry and Parks to clean up and improve the provincial day-use area. Improvements have included the installation of picnic tables and garbage and recycling containers, upgrades to road access, and repairs to the existing outhouse facilities.
In 2025–2026, the MD continued this work with the addition of an accessible fishing dock. The new dock provides an opportunity for people of all abilities to enjoy fishing and spend time along the Lesser Slave River. It is an investment in outdoor recreation that will help make the area more welcoming and accessible for residents and visitors from across the region and beyond for years to come.
