Murray Kerik Re-Elected as Reeve
Six Councillors elected by acclamation
We are pleased to announce that Murray Kerik has been re-elected to serve as Reeve for the MD of Lesser Slave River.
Reeve Kerik secured the Reeve position with a decisive majority, receiving 300 votes. His opponent received 100 votes.
In the MD, the position of Reeve is directly elected by the public rather than appointed from among the sitting councillors by a vote of Council. Reeve Kerik will serve the MD in this role for the 2025-2029 term.
Congratulations to Reeve Kerik. We look forward to another term of his leadership.
Six Council Seats Uncontested
For Lesser Slave River voters, the only ballot to cast in this municipal election was for the office of the Reeve. This is because all running Councillor candidates have won by acclamation for the 2025-2029 term.
Acclamation occurs when the number of candidates equals the number of vacant seats. As a result, the outcome is predetermined, and there is no need for a voting process. The MD warmly welcomes both new and returning Council members.
Unofficial Election Results
The MD's Returning Officer will certify and publicly announce the results on or before 12 noon on the fourth day following the 2025 Municipal General Election.
