Marten Beach Truck Fill Now Fully Operational
The MD is pleased to announce that the Marten Beach Truck Fill is now fully operational.
Over the weekend, MD staff worked diligently to complete a comprehensive cleaning, sanitizing, and system flush of the Marten Beach Facility, the necessary approvals were received and testing was successful.
We extend our sincere thanks to the residents of Marten Beach for their patience and understanding throughout this process.
The Municipal District of Lesser Slave River has temporarily closed Marten Beach Truck Fill on August 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
This closure was due to the detection of a potential regulatory testing inconsistency in our system during routine quality control checks.
Out of an abundance of caution, field operations immediately shut down the Marten Beach facility to perform a thorough cleaning, sanitizing and system flush. Once these procedures are complete and the requisite approvals are received, the truck fill will be placed back in service.
Compliance with Provincial Protocols
Like all Alberta Municipalities, the MD adheres to stringent standards for daily water sample testing at its bulk water stations as regulated by Alberta Health Services.
We understand residents may have questions about flushing home water systems following the temporary closure. As a precaution, you’re welcome to test your water. Sample bottles are available at Alberta Health Services locations. For pickup and drop-off details, please contact AHS Environmental Public Health.
At this time, the MD anticipates that the truck fill will remain closed through the weekend. Updates will be provided as work progresses to keep Marten Beach residents informed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.
The MD remains committed to providing residents with high-quality services and sincerely appreciates your understanding and cooperation during this time. To help minimize the impact of the temporary truck fill closure, a water truck will be stationed near the site, allowing Marten Beach residents to access water at their convenience.
The water truck will be on site:
- Saturday August 23, 2025 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday August 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
