Notice of Acclamation


The MD is pleased to announce the election by acclamation of Darcie Acton as Councillor for Division 2. Accordingly, the by-election scheduled for February 7 has been cancelled. Councillor Acton’s term commenced January 22, 2020. This will be the fourth term for Councillor Acton, who served on MD Council from 2004 to 2013. MD Council and Administration welcome back Councillor Acton and look forward to working with her!


Division 2 includes the communities of Mitsue, Poplar Lane, Marten Beach, Canyon Creek, Widewater, Assineau. (Townships 68 to 72: all of Ranges 4 to 7 inclusive; Townships 73 to 76: all of Ranges 4 to 8 inclusive; and Townships 77 and 78: all of Ranges 4 to 6 inclusive; all of the above lands lying west of the fifth Meridian, with the exception of lands comprising the Town of Slave Lake, Sawridge Indian Reserve and the Assineau River Indian Reserve).
