Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 1-Structure Fire-606 6 AVE SE
  • 1-Vehicle Fire-800 Main ST SW
  • 5-Duty Officer-309 6 ST NE/Widewater Complex/300 6 AVE SW/1700 Main ST SW/106 7 ST SE
  • 2-Wildland Fire-Tolko Mill/Devonshire Beach
  • 2-Rescue-Slave Pulp Mill/309 6 ST NE

  • Weekly meeting
  • Servicing SPU pumps and equipment returned from HL
  • Organizing trucks around the hall 1
  • Shop clean up
  • Performed service on Unit 141 and installed laptop mount and inverter
  • Replaced both front and rear shocks on Unit 104
  • Assisted with SPU trailer clean up
  • Inspected/repaired two scene lights
  • Repaired Unit 111 #7 cabinet lighting and door ajar sensor/inspected wiring cabinets 6/8
  • Installed 12v charge port into Unit 151
  • Dropped off Unit 103 to Direct Current for the RS alley lamp concern
  • Went to Mitsue to repair Unit 511 and performed hall check
  • Went to Smith & FB to perform hall check and inspect Units & ordered parts for FB.

  • Day Duty Officer for the week
  • Met with CAO regarding operations and Fire Chief Posting
  • TV Show review at TOSL
  • Met with Plains Midstream regarding upcoming exercise
  • Ordered Hazmat adaptors for SCBA
  • Met with Hall 2 member regarding pager
  • Assisted with Canyon Creek Firesmart Day

  • Hall 1 Training – Met with Town CAO And Mayor regarding future of LSRFS, Truck and trailer work
  • Hall 2 Training – Truck Checks, hall clean
  • Hall 4 Training – Truck Checks, meeting

  • Canyon Creek FS clean up day
  • Sprinkler Trailer restock/checklist
  • Assisted with 1001 instruction
  • Members off on days off
