Hydrant Flushing Program Successfully Completed
Working to ensure safe, reliable water for our communities
Update as of Tuesday, November 18
This year's annual hydrant flushing program has been successfully completed.
Thank you to all residents for your patience and understanding during this important maintenance work.
This month, the MD will launch its yearly hydrant flushing program across the region.
The MD will begin its annual fire hydrant flushing program on Tuesday, September 30.
This routine maintenance is essential to maintaining high-quality water and ensuring fire hydrants remain reliable for emergency use. The process is expected to take about four weeks to complete.
During this time, you may notice temporary water discolouration or reduced water pressure. To minimize inconvenience, we recommend avoiding laundry while hydrants in your area are being flushed. Crews will be working along local roadsides—please drive with caution and watch for workers.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important work to protect the safety and quality of our water system.
If you have any questions, please contact the MD’s Utilities team at 780.849.4888 or toll-free at 1.866.449.4888.
