Starting on Thursday, June 11, the MD’s contractor will begin crack sealing on asphalt roads in the Canyon Creek area, and start working their way east.

Crack sealing is preventative maintenance that helps stop water from penetrating the road surface and compromising the road base. This work involves clearing cracks of sand and debris, then filling them with a rubberized sealant. The process helps extend the life of the roadway by minimizing water infiltration, which can cause damage during freeze-thaw cycles and wet weather.

There may be some delays as crews complete this work. Motorists are reminded to slow down in work zones, obey all posted signage and instructions from flagging crews, and give workers plenty of space to operate safely. The MD appreciates your patience and cooperation in helping keep our roads and crews safe.
