Be part of the decision‑making that drives our community. Vote for Reeve in the upcoming election and help guide the future of the MD.

Monday, October 20, from 8:00am to 8:00pm, is your opportunity to cast your vote for Reeve and help guide the direction of our MD for the next four years. Eligible voters are encouraged to take part in this important civic process and choose between the two candidates running for Reeve.

Municipal elections in Alberta take place every four years, and this election offers residents the opportunity to elect the Reeve who will serve the MD of Lesser Slave River. Your participation helps ensure that local representation reflects the priorities and values of our community.

Six Council Seats Uncontested

For Lesser Slave River voters, the only ballot to cast in this Municipal Election will be for the office of the Reeve. This is because all running Councillor candidates have won by acclamation for the 2025-2029 term.

Acclamation occurs when the number of candidates equals the number of vacant seats. As a result, the outcome is predetermined, and there is no need for a voting process. The MD warmly welcomes both new and returning Council members.

School Trustees

For the High Prairie School Division, there are four candidates running for School Trustees, with two available seats. For the Pembina Hills East Ward 2, there are two candidates running for School Trustee, with one seat available.
