The MD is accepting applications for three Member-at-Large positions on the Agricultural Service Board for the 2025–2026 term.

The Agricultural Service Board (ASB) is a Council-appointed committee that addresses agricultural issues within the municipality. The application deadline is October 3, 2025, at 4:00pm.

We are seeking candidates who:

  • Possess knowledge across a broad range of agricultural topics
  • Reside in or own property within the MD
  • Can attend regular board meetings
  • Are willing to serve on ASB-related committees
  • Are able to participate in regional and provincial ASB conferences

About the Agricultural Service Board

All Agricultural Service Boards operate under the Agricultural Service Boards Act. The ASB’s responsibilities include:

  • Advising and supporting the Minister and Council on matters of mutual concern
  • Organizing and overseeing programs for soil and water conservation, weed and pest control, and animal disease prevention (under the Animal Health Act)
  • Supporting and developing agricultural policies that address municipal needs
  • Promoting, protecting, and enhancing sustainable agriculture to strengthen producer viability
