2022 MD Moments Photo Contest Underway

The entry phase for the MD Moments Photo Contest — and the chance to win one of 13 $100 prizes — is now open! The top 13 most popular photos will be featured in the 2023 MD wall calendar, and their shooters will each receive $100.

The inaugural MD Moments Photo Contest is a great way for Lesser Slave River community members to show off their photo skills while showcasing the best of our region. The contest is open to citizens of he MD of Lesser Slave River and adjacent communities (excluding MD Council and Administration). Got some cool local photos to show off? You have until September 30, 2022 to enter them into the contest! Winners get $100, and their photos are featured in the 2023 MD wall calendar that gets produced at the end of the contest.

You can submit up to five entries om the contest, but only one prize will be awarded per entrant. On October 1, all eligible entries will be added to the voting page. The 13 top-voted pics win the contest, provided they meet the submission requirements.

Key Content Considerations

Want to submit a winning photo? It needs to capture the hearts of the contest voters, and it also needs to meet the technical contest requirements. Your entry is likely to make the cut if:

  • It's shot in horizontal format — not vertical (portrait) format

  • It's a full-colour photo — not grayscale or sepia tone

  • It's a nice, big photo that will hold up when printed at 10" x 8"

  • It does not have watermarks, faded edges or other filters applied

More Information

When you submit your photos, they will be posted to the Voting Page (launching October 1, 2922) with other entries (submitter names will be removed). Visitors to this page can view current entries and vote for their favourites. The 13 top-voted entries will each win $100, and their winning photos will be featured in the 2023 MD wall calendar.

Keep in mind that any and all photos you submit using the form on this page will become the property of the MD of Lesser Slave River for use in its communications activities, and that your name and identity may be revealed therein by descriptive text or commentary.
