On-Farm Climate Action Fund accepting applications

The On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF) provides financial support to producers to accelerate their adoption and implementation of on-farm Beneficial Management Practices (BMP) to lower Greenhouse Gas emissions, support production efficiency, sustainability and resiliency on their farm operations.

To assist producers with their adoption of new Beneficial Management Practices, the program will offer producers resources to support BMP implementation and provide BMP design recommendations. RDAR is a delivery partner, selected by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, to distribute funds associated with this program.

In light of the program updates for 2024, all applicants must submit new applications. Explore the OFCAF Program and apply for funding by clicking HERE.

What is the OFCAF?

OFCAF is designed to help producers tackle climate change by supporting new actions to lower greenhouse gas emissions. This program is intended to reduce the risk of new practices while expanding, sustaining, and documenting activities that may not occur without this funding.

The OFCAF program is delivered by Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR) with funding from the Agricultural Climate Solutions initiative managed by Natural Resources Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

OFCAF provides financial support to producers to accelerate the adoption of Beneficial Management Practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support increased production efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency in their farm operations.

RDAR is a program delivery partner that will administer OFCAF in Alberta to benefit Alberta's producers. RDAR is implementing OFCAF with a focus on enhancing nitrogen management, improving soil health with cover crops, and developing rotational grazing systems.

About Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR)

Through 2019, the Government of Alberta conducted numerous in-person and online sessions, engaging with over 2,000 farmers, ranchers, and industry partners to glean their insights on the future of agricultural research in Alberta. RDAR was created as a result of these consultations.
