Leader Cancels Subscription Service

Due to changing conditions in the newspaper industry, it is no longer feasible for the Lakeside Leader to support mail-out subscriptions of its weekly newspaper.

The MD is working with the Leader to establish community pick-up points for the paper in the areas of Canyon Creek, Widewater, Marten Beach, Smith, Flatbush, VIC, and the Lakeside Leader office, so that residents can continue to receive it. Once these pick-up points have been established, the MD will inform residents via the municipal website and social media channels. Residents also have the option of contacting the Leader directly to arrange for a paid subscription. The MD will continue to support this valuable regional resource by way of advertising dollars, and is hopeful that the planned efficiencies will help the Lakeside Leader adapt and thrive.
