Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 4-Duty Officer-41 Christian Court NE/704 12 AVE SW/416 6 AVE NE/400 6 AVE NE
  • 1 MVA-HWY 88 & HWY 754 
  • 1-MFR-102 801 6 AVE NW

  • Chassis Service/Oil change to Unit 321
  • Installed 4 pack mounts for the back brace and road signs
  • Sent to Smith to drop off Unit 521 & pick up Unit 321
  • Replaced tool-box strut on Unit 101/104
  • Repaired Booster reel button & fastener to Unit 141
  • Installed safety ball and mounts on Unit 161/111
  • Reported damage of Unit 321 generator to OH/S, repaired generator drawer, repaired auxiliary intake valve
  • Dropped off Unit 187 for repairs
  • Dropped off & picked up Unit 102 from KalTire
  • Replaced Unit 141 side door struts
  • Painted Unit 161 shelf

  • Attended 36 hours Strike Team/Task Force Leader Course
  • Met with Office Of the Fire Commissioner Staff
  • Returning Hall 2 Firefighter Gear issue
  • Met with Lakeside Leader to update on new Staff and upcoming events
  • 1001 weekend preparation
  • Ongoing work on Standard Operating Guidelines
  • Medical Fist Response meeting with AHS Air Bag Demonstration with Nor-Quest 1001
  • Completed two fire investigations Tractor Fire and Tractor/Trailer fire
  • Completed Invoicing for 1041 course
  • Walkthrough of TOSL tradeshow
  • Completed MFR survey for AHS
  • 1001 weekend Tools, Ventilation, Forcible Entry, ladders

  • Hall 1/2/5-Hazard Reduction Burning

  • Task force Strike team leader course
  • Hazard reduction burns Widewater, Slave, Mitsue
  • Met with OFC about provincial trailer deployments
  • Clean 321 inside and out
  • Maintenance all wajax bags
  • 1001 class all weekend
