Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 2 MVA’s-19 minutes East SL & HWY 88 20 KM North of SL
  • 3 Duty Officers-1294 Southshore Drive & 2 calls at 605 6 AVE SE

  • Started the MD CVIPs finished off Flatbush and started Smith
  • Worked on Live Fire Center
  • Completed maintenance repair requests

  • Worked on CVFSA Registrations, update website and Registration packages
  • Assisted with Regional Live Fire training center projects
  • Prepare for special teams training night
  • Hall tour for local family, with young gentleman who is very excited to learn about the fire dept.
  • Return gear form fire fighters who have left the department
  • Assisted with preparing, and assist with visit from MLA Larivee and MLA Hoffman
  • Assisted with preparations for TOSL Safety Stand down day
  • Safety Stand down day activates and fire extinguisher training for town staff
  • Prep for final day of Bigstone 1001 weekend at Bigstone fire hall, last two weekends to be held in Slave Lake

  • DC Kearney away on vacation this week

  • Hall 1 training special teams, Water rescue and rope rescue work in creek behind NLC
  • Hall 2-Driver Training & Familiarization pumping exercise
  • Hall 5-Truck checks

  • Pincher Creek SPU deployment
  • lean up/Invoicing for Pincher Creek Deployment
  • Curbside chipping in Marten Beach
  • TOSL Safety Stand Down Day/FF Olympics
  • Fix landscaping at Hall 1 around tree
