Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 3 MVA’s-HWY 754 Wabasca 35 KM, 30 KM East HWY 2, HWY 88 & TWP 802A
  • 6 Duty Officer- HWY 88 Left of Golf Course Road, 1550 Holmes Trail, 300 4 AVE NE, 39309 Southshore Drive, and Holiday Inn Express & Gillwood Golf & Country Club

  • Picked up push mower
  • Pump Testing with Seahawk
  • Assisted Shawn with drywall

  • Worked on AFRRACS radio programming
  • CVFSA training requests inputted
  • Picked up new bike for child who had to have his leg removed from his old one
  • Cleaned and returned Future Fire Fighter gear to storage
  • Completed fire investigation paperwork HWY Motor Inn & GFL Truck
  • Bigstone 1001 weekend prep and teaching
  • Completed Fire inspection of White Buffalo Residence
  • Toured Myram Fire Chief around fire hall and training center
  • Updated lock box keys for Northern Lakes College
  • Training on standpipes with full time crew

  • Worked on areas of responsibilities –First Aid gear
  • Meeting with AFFRACS supplier
  • Prep for Widewater practice
  • All MD halls visited
  • All MD fire engines and tenders had pump testing completed
  • Worked on drone landing pads
  • Mill visit with Tolko to build a preplans of their mill for I am Responding
  • Had gotten materials for Live Fire training center
  • Covered Daytime Duty Officer for 2 calls
  • 2 Calls Widewater Duty Officer & MVA

  • Hall 1-Pumping and driving training
  • Widewater –Driver Training
  • Smith Spinal motion restriction & patient extrication
  • Mitsue Equipment Familiarization

  • Paint seacans in Training Facility
  • Skid steer mulcher orientation
  • Case studies of WUI fires for NLC course development
  • OFC costing for SPU storage and maintenance
