Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 3 Duty Officer-1551 Main ST SE, 900 Main ST SW & 312 6 AVE NW
  • 2 MVA- Muskeg RD & HWY 88 & 405 Caribou Trail NW

  • Finished the inspection and repairs on Unit 173 & 292 trailers
  • Worked on finalizing quotes on skid steer
  • Miscellaneous repairs around Hall 1 and Equipment

  • Work with Technical Services advisory group getting started on 5 week NFPA 1001 program
  • Teach parts of first aid to TSAG
  • Gather information for new SCBA/AFFRACS
  • Attended Flatbush practice First Aid/AED
  • Inspection of Slave Lake Inn
  • Met with HPSD to discuss chemical storage
  • Tour of Tolko Mill
  • Took part in classroom session of Drone training program

  • Retired FF came back into service Hall 5 member
  • First Aid instruction to TSAG/Instructor completion
  • SCBA bottles from Hydro testing back
  • Mitsue bottles returned/others to follow this week
  • Tolko Mill meet and greet with new management staff and tour
  • helped TSAG with SCBA/AFFRAC radio calls with provincial government
  • Assisted with quotes for SCBA
  • Worked on forms for the Daycare regarding fire inspections and fire drill documentation

  • SAR-Wilderness First Aid Training
  • TSAG training group-Week 1
  • First aid instructors are all 100% complete
  • Hall 1 Training – Special Teams –Water/Tech Rescue

  • CJ Schurter Firesmart Education program
  • Review of Rescue list program for AB WUI program
  • Inventory of Wildfire gear for Spring
  • Finish up Unit 141 for spring service
