Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 1 Vehicle Fire- 9 Main ST Smith
  • 1 Medical Co-Response- 65450 RD 11
  • 1 Duty Officer- 3000 15 AVE SE
  • 1- MVA-2 AVE NW & Main ST

  • Finished off sprinkler trailer inspections
  • Inspected 273
  • Hall 3 visit and replaced light on Unit 321
  • Hall 4 visit and replaced fuel filter and air filter on Unit 421

  • All MD inspections completed
  • Petroleum Tank Permits completed
  • Updated information books for all Hall 1 units
  • Slave Lake Day Car Fire Safety visit with staff
  • NFPA 472 Hazmat exams
  • Recruit training day Saturday
  • Occupancy Loads completed NLC Gym, MRC upstairs & Northern Star Inn
  • Alberta Emergency Alert Practice
  • Assist with final clean up and spring prep of Unit 141 and Sprinkler Trailer
  • I AM Responding training done-system works well, great pager backup

  • Subdivision approval for MD
  • Inspections on all MD building
  • Flatbush Complex, Smith Complex and Arena, Widewater Complex, Administration building, VIC Center
  • Flatbush and Smith Hall visits
  • Meeting with Daycare regarding the alarm call at their facility
  • Some more items dealt with for the Rehab Trailer
  • Clean Up
  • Fittings delivered Hall 2 & 3 –Hydrant to Tanker 4NH -4Stortz

  • Work with Forestry on burn piles in Mitsue
