Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 2 Medical Co-Response -204 Main ST NW & 39 East Mitsue Road
  • 2 Structure Fire both 761 Southshore Drive. Hotspots looked after on day 2
  • 1 Vehicle Fire 9 Main ST Smith
  • 1-Other 712 6 AVE SE –Sparking Electrical box

  • Inspect Unit 271 -sprinkler trailer completed with repairs done
  • Re- Wire from Brakes on Unit 271
  • Pick up Unit 321 from Heavy Equipment- Needed new park brake switch
  • Finished off repair request forms
  • Took primer out of Unit 151 and cleaned.
  • Started inspection of Unit 175-sprinkler trailer

  • Met with DC & Chief about upcoming concert in Smith
  • OFC Bigstone 1001
  • Worked on First Aid lesson plans
  • Northern Lakes College meeting with Jim Meldrum
  • Assisted with Canyon Creek Structure Fire
  • GP Dispatch 911 call info request
  • Hotel Northern Star inspection
  • Assisted with clean up structure fire
  • Fire investigation of Canyon Creek fire
  • ST Mary’s & ST Francis inspections completed
  • Hall 1 TOSL inspection completed
  • Meeting with Aboriginal Instructor
  • Cold weather parks for trucks

  • Structure Fire in Canyon Creek
  • Revamped the Mitsue Training Schedule that FF agreed to and sent out
  • Returned Unit 321 to Smith after it was fixed
  • Booked inspection with Smith School
  • Completed inspections of ST. Mary’s & St Francis Schools
  • Site visit to Black Pearl
  • Cleaned up dry hose from WW after fire
  • Pump Training
  • Clean Up

  • WW- First Aid, Meeting with Chiefs
  • Flatbush- Rescheduled due to Structure Fire
  • Hall 1-First Aid & CPR AED, Naloxone & First Aid Kits
  • Pump/Drafting training

  • Meet with Contractor for advice on FS, small engine main ST and Schedules
