Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 4 MVA –HWY 2 & Lawerence Lake, 1500 Main ST SW, Mitsue Road, 227 2 AVE NW
  • 2 Medical Co-Response – 4505 TWP 724 C & 162 Woodland Estates
  • 1- Other –Gas Odor -416 6 AVE NE

  • Daily Truck checks Hall 1
  • Finish winter tire change over
  • Fire Inspection Friendship Center
  • Led Hall 1 Practice – Extrication

  • Training Hall 1 FF’s how cars are put together, incident command training with Officers using Tiny Town.
  • Inspections of Woodland Place (Mountain Ash/Silver Birch), Lakeview Inn & Suites & Pre-Inspection as well as Inspections of Friendship Center.
  • Worked with Friendship Center regarding fire and life safety issues.
  • Took 3 Students from Roland Michener –Take Your Kid to Work day –showed them all aspects of the FD –FF, Hazmat, SCBA gear and Tiny Town scenarios.
  • Day & Night Duty Officer for the week
  • Attended Critical Incident Stress Management Seminar hosted by RCMP

  • Data Complication of call attendance
  • Received sizing jackets for Widewater
  • Cleaning up First Aid Kit

  • Assisted on helping the Friendship Center for Fire cod Compliance
  • SCBA review
  • Mitsue Hall visit, cleaned, ordered water, reported Hall items to be repaired to MD maintenance. Cleaned up gear from FF, that are no longer with the Mitsue and Widewater halls.
  • Procured items for WW Hall and Smith hall Unit 251 washed after returned from service
  • Prepping for scheduling for training schedule for 2018
  • Medals arrived for awards received nominations.
