Financial accountability and transparency is our priority.

Following the priorities determined by Council and Administration, in addition to long-range road maintenance and capital equipment replacement plans, the budget supports the maintenance of existing service levels while managing spending in a responsible manner that reflects the current economic situation.

2026 Operating Budget

The municipal budget serves as a financial plan outlining how the MD raises and invests funds to deliver services and programs over the coming year. It includes anticipated revenues and projected expenses across departments and service areas, reflecting our ongoing commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility.

The MD’s operating budget aligns with the priorities identified in our Strategic Plan and continues to ensure high service standards throughout the region. Funding is primarily derived from property taxes and user fees. Each year, Administration carefully refines service plans and budget allocations to respond to changing local conditions and meet the evolving needs of our community.

Comprehensive Statements of Financial Position and Results of Operations

The MD is committed to maintaining high quality accounting standards and a transparent financial reporting system that meets the needs of all stakeholders. Our comprehensive statements of financial position and results of operations provide an account of the stewardship of our financial activities in support of delivering programs and services to its residents, businesses, and industry.
