Funding for recreational, social, cultural, educational, and athletic programs.

Community assistance funding supports recreational, social, cultural, educational and athletic programs in the region. The Community Assistance Board helps the MD allocate budgeted funding for community-focused opportunities, initiatives and programming.

Local recreational, social, cultural, educational and athletic programs provide a solid foundation for the physical and mental well-being of everyone in the region.

Applying for Community Assistance Board Funding

All not-for-profit societies, community groups, clubs and individuals that offer a direct benefit to the citizens of Lesser Slave River, and that align with the MD’s community values (youth, seniors, fellowship, compassion, generosity, spirit, leadership and volunteerism) are eligible to apply for CAB funding.

Applications are due at month end for the months of January, April, July and October. The Community Assistance Board reviews and allocates funds in February, May, August and November.

Who is eligible for funding?

All not-for-profit societies, community groups, clubs and individuals that offer a direct benefit to the citizens of the MD, and that align with the MD’s community values (youth, seniors, fellowship, compassion, generosity, spirit, leadership and volunteerism) will be eligible to apply for community assistance funding.

Priority will be given to applications that focus on core areas of Recreation, Social, Cultural, Education and Athletics.

Who is not eligible for funding?

Religious entities, registered charities and for-profit organizations will not qualify for community assistance funding.

When are applications due?
