The Transportation team maintains MD-owned roadways and related infrastructure at acceptable service levels, and enhances infrastructure as required to accommodate regional growth and economic development.

Regular maintenance of MD-owned infrastructure includes road repairs, cold mix overlays, cold-mix patching, graveling, dust suppression, hydro axing, mowing, and winter activities like snow removal.

One frustrating aspect of rural living is the dust that's often produced by traffic on gravel roads. The Transportation department offers help in abating commonly-occurring road dust that can pose a safety hazard as well as a nuisance for rural residents.
