Who are We?
We are a society comprised of local businesses, residents, Town and MD representatives.
The MD’s $1,000 Rugged & Real Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving local student attending a post-secondary institution. The 2018 scholarship application is now open.
Renovations to the Flatbush Community Complex have been completed, and the facility is once again open to the public.
The MD is pleased to announce the launch of its new Bench Dedication Program. Under this program, an important date, a personal message, or the name of a loved one can now accompany park benches that will be placed in scenic locations across the MD.
This April, MD Council identified that many new families with young children are moving into the Hamlet of Flatbush. Because speeding on Range Road 20 poses a reasonable risk to children in this area, Council has moved that new "Children at Play" signs are to be erected at various points of entry into the Hamlet.
In an effort to enhance off-highway vehicle (OHV) safety, the Government of Alberta has recently amended the Traffic Safety Act to include a new OHV Helmet Law. This means that effective May 15, 2017, helmets will be mandatory for those riding off-highway vehicles (OHVs) on public land. OHVs include any motorized vehicle built for cross-country travel on land, ice, and snow. Common types of OHV are all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), snowmobiles, dirt bikes, utility terrain vehicles, and side-by-sides.
In an effort to keep residents informed on the state of regional healthcare, Alberta Health Services has compiled a list of frequently asked questions. These questions cover issues such as wait times, extended hours, recruitment efforts and communications.
