2017 Re-Gravel Registry Open

Under the terms of its 2017 Re-Gravel Program, the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River is offering an opportunity for gravel haulers to work at a set price of $ 0.13 per metric tonne per kilometre. Kilometres are calculated from the area gravel pit to the centre point of the candidate road for re-gravel. The 2017 re-gravel registry process will remain open until 4:30pm on June 1, 2017.

The MD owns and operates 4 gravel pits within its boundaries. In 2017, Council approved an increased annual re-gravel budget to protect over 230 kilometres of local roads. The local roads re-gravelling strategy is on a three year rotation. With the increased scope of work, the MD is offering an opportunity for gravel haulers to work at a set price of $ 0.13 per metric tonne per kilometre.

Kilometres are calculated from the area gravel pit to the centre point of the candidate road for re-gravel. The average round trip distance for the 2017 Re-Gravel Program is approximately 50 km (approximately under 40% under and 60% over). Tonnage will be measured by the Municipal loader scale.

The MD will provide the following:

  • Road Foreman
  • Loader with scale and operator
  • Grader & Operator (as required)
  • Gravel Checker
  • Stakes

Hours of work will be 7:00 am to 6:30 pm daily, 7 days a week (weather dependent).

The 2017 re-gravel registry process will remain open until June 1, 2017 at 4:30 pm.
