Annual Community Clean-Up Week


Gather a group of friends, family members or co-workers to help tidy up your local playground, beach, neighbourhood, trail or sports field.Between May 7 and May 13, the MD will support your clean-up efforts by providing special litter and recycling bags, and by coordinating waste removal. We’ll even throw in some funky community clean-up T-shirts!

Beginning May 10, waste bins will be provided at the MRC parking lot for community clean-up activities. Call 780.849.8028 to sign up your group!

Accepted Waste:

  • BATTERIES: alkali, dry cell, NiCad, lithium, lead-acid (automotive)
  • ELECTRONICS: TVs, computers, laptops, phones, iPods/iPads, DVD players, hair dryers, cameras, etc.
  • PAINTS: household, stains, paint thinners (empty or full cans)
  • PROPANE CYLINDERS: barbecue (20 lbs), camp (1 lbs)

Please note that appliances will not be accepted as they are already accepted year-round at the Landfill and Transfer Stations.
