Fire Services Update

The Lesser Slave River Regional Fire Service is committed to protecting life, property and the environment from fire, hazardous materials, natural disasters and other emergencies. As such, the department issues a weekly report on all investigations, fire prevention activities and other Fire Services news of importance to the residents of the Lesser Slave River region.

  • 5-Duty Officer -112 12 AVE SW, 604 Main ST SW, 900B Main ST SW, 4618 55 ST West Fawcett, 801 6 AVE NW
  • 1-Structure Fire –East End of Poplar Lane
  • 1-MVA- Hwy 2 22KM West of SL

  • Participated in interviews for new Maintenance person
  • Cleared snow at Hall 1
  • Structure Fire Poplar Lane and Boston Pizza
  • Downloaded fire hydrants into I Am Responding
  • Prepared For NFPA 472 Course
  • Submitted summary of training for 2017 Incident Command Courses

  • Widewater MVA single vehicle & Co-Response call for Mitsue Structure Fire
  • Day Time Duty Officer Duties
  • Assisted with interviews for new Maintenance position
  • Assisted with I Am Responding
  • Printed and laminated all Lesson Plans for all rural halls
  • Serviced Unit 122 nozzle
  • Mitsue & WW Hall visits, plow snow and dropped off supplies
  • Reviewed the 472 Proctor items & Proctored the NFPA 472 exam

  • SAR Training- Ambulance Orientation & Gear Handout
  • Hall 1 Dangerous Goods, Decontamination, Emergency Response Guide, Spills & Leaks
  • Stated first weekend of NFPA 472 Hazmat Course, 20 students completed awareness course Saturday and started operations course Sunday.
  • Widewater help with burn pile to protect building if required

  • All crew off on Annual Vacation
